Blueberry Matcha

Inspired by the now famous Blank Street blueberry matcha, I set out to give matcha another go. The first time I tried it I didn't hate it, but I also didn't love it! But when I saw what the blueberry matcha looked like, I had to try it!

I didn't want to spend a fortune, so made my own blueberry syrup which I highly recommend doing, as it is so easy!

All you need to make the syrup is 1 x cup blueberries (fresh or frozen) 1 x cup of white sugar, 1 x cup of water, 1 x teaspoon of vanilla essence, a squeeze of lemon juice and a tiny pinch of salt.

Pop everything in a saucepan, give it a good mix over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Increase the heat to a gentle boil and continue to stir regularly until you have a thick syrup - It takes about 10/15 mins.

Take off the heat and leave to cool. When the syrup has cooled, why not pop it in one of our tipping pourer bottles, the 350ml are the ideal size for syrups, and of course you can personalise the label.

Next, grab your most aesthetically pleasing glass and fill it with ice. We used our glass with a bamboo lids and glass straw as it is perfect for this. Then pour approx 1cm of your blueberry syrup into the bottom of your glass. (If you like it very sweet add more) Next add your milk of choice to the glass so that it's roughly 3/4 full.

Next, make your matcha - I tend to add just under 1 teaspoon of matcha (Perfect Ted matcha from Amazon) to 60ml of hot water (not boiling) whisk it up so that it's nice and frothy, then pour it over the milk and enjoy watching the stunning combo unfold in front of you.

Give it a mix and enjoy!
